Preparing to submit your Application
Thoroughly read and review the foundation’s guidelines and focus area, found on this website. Farmington Bank Community Foundation Grant applications are managed by an online grant system.  Paper applications are not accepted.

Review the Narrative Questions for our online application below

New Applicants or New Program Requests will be asked to answer the first five questions. Grantees asking for continued funding for a program are asked to answer the last two questions. We are interested in supporting programs that make a difference in the clients/participants life and cumulatively the community as a whole.

Basic information for Requests includes
Project Title; Amount Requested
Request Summary (150 words); Number of people served by this request
Do the majority of clients have income at or below 80% of area median income
Indicate what geographical area you serve
Narrative questions are:

  • Who is the population you will be working with? (200words)
  • What objectives or goals are you working with clients/participants to achieve? (300 words)
  • What method or approach will you use for clients/participants to achieve them? (300 words)
  • How will you know whether or not clients/participants have success or progress? (300 words)
  • Who else are you approaching for funding? (200 words)
  • Only for renewing Grantees;
    Tell us about any changes to the program, how participants are responding, any obstacles or barriers they or your organization are facing that impede their progress. (600 words)

Successful grant applications
• Are clearly aligned with the foundations areas of interest
• Have a clear plan of action
• Define the objectives and goals participants are striving for
• Identify how the organization will measure its effectiveness
• Show organizational capacity to implement the program
• Provide a reasonable budget with identified revenue and expenses
• Complete the application along with requested documents.

Lastly review your application and ask yourself; Did I answer the questions or did I provide what I thought they wanted to hear?
